Pre-treatment Advice

  • Exfoliate your entire body with a professional grade mitt on the day, or the day before your Spray Tan appointment.
  • Do not wear any moisturisers, body butters, oils, perfumes or deodorant to your Spray Tan appointment.
  • If you have any other tanning products on your skin, thoroughly remove these prior to your Spray Tan treatment. This will help to guarantee a more even, longer lasting result.
  • Perform hair removal such as waxing and shaving prior to your Spray Tan treatment.

Post-treatment Advice

  • Do not do anything that will make you perspire excessively immediately afterwards
  • Only shower after the amount of time recommended by your Therapist
  • For best results, when rinsing off your tan, do not use body wash or soap. Rinse with water only until the water runs clear
  • Gently towel pat your skin dry after showering rather than rubbing
  • Avoid staying in baths, pools, spas or showers for extended periods
  • Use the recommended tanning aftercare products like a tan extender moisturiser to lengthen the life of your tan

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY SPRAY TAN?

What you wear or don’t wear is up to you. You can wear as much or as little as you like during the treatment. However, a tan with no lines always looks the best! We also provide disposable g-strings to wear if that helps you feel more comfortable. Wear dark loose clothing to your appointment and don’t forget to bring open toed shoes.

HOW LONG DOES A SPRAY TAN LAST?

Your spray tan will last about one week. However, thanks to our tanning formulas and aftercare products – and assuming you follow our suggested post-treatment recommendations – you can keep your tan for up to 10 days.

WHEN CAN I SHOWER AFTER MY SPRAY TAN?

Your professional Therapist will advise you about how long to wait before washing off your spray tan. Remember, times will vary depending on the chosen formula and the depth and darkness of the colour you want to achieve. If you need to “do and dash,” we have a rapid tan available that you can wash off in as little as an hour.

WHAT PREPARATION DO I NEED TO CARRY OUT FOR MY SPRAY TAN?

You should exfoliate every day for three days leading up to your tan in order to remove any dead skin cells (this will help prolong your tan).

WILL MY SPRAY TAN TURN ME ORANGE?

No, at Believe in Beautiful, we use completely organic tans with a green-base. This ensures a completely natural finish and no risk of orange ankles!

I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN. WILL THE TANNING PRODUCT AFFECT IT?

The superior tanning products we use are organic and have firming and hydrating properties, we have never had a client react to our tanning products.

WHAT KIND OF TAN IS USED?

All Believe in Beautiful salons use green-based HYDR8TAN and Vani-T tanning products. Both products are organic.

WILL MY TAN FADE EVENLY?

If you follow the recommended pre and post treatment advice you should have a natural long lasting tan that fades evenly. Some areas of the tan may fade faster than others, particularly parts which experience more abrasive activities (such as the face and chest).

IS SPRAY TANNING SAFE?

Spray tanning is the safest way to gain naturally bronzed skin away fro the harmful rays of the sun.
