If you spend part of every morning drawing on your brows, cosmetic brow tattooing could give you that time back. You wake up with defined, balanced brows that don’t smudge at the gym, slide off in the Brisbane humidity or wash away in the pool.
We offer two cosmetic brow tattoo styles: Feather Touch Brows and Powder Brows. Both start with a free consultation, and both can look beautiful. The right choice comes down to the look you love and your natural brows.
Feather Touch and Powder Brows at a glance
| Feather Touch Brows | Powder Brows | |

Feather Touch Brows: fine, hair-like strokes
Feather Touch Brows are all about high definition and a natural finish. Your artist creates fine, hair-like strokes that mimic the direction and pattern of real brow hairs, filling in sparse spots and shaping your brows without looking “done”.
You’ll often hear feather touch compared with microblading, because both are designed to look like individual brow hairs. If you’ve been researching microblading, Feather Touch Brows are the technique we offer for that hair-stroke look.
Feather touch tends to suit you if:
- You’d like your brows to look like your own, just better.
- You have gaps, thin patches or an uneven shape you’d like to correct.
- You rarely wear heavy makeup and prefer a fresh, natural look.
Powder Brows: a soft, shaded makeup look
Powder Brows create a soft, shaded effect instead of individual strokes. The result looks like you’ve filled your brows in with a brow powder or pencil, with a softer, lighter front that builds to more definition through the arch and tail.
Powder brows tend to suit you if:
- You love the look of filled-in brows and already wear brow makeup most days.
- You’d like a fuller, more polished brow.
- You want a style with a lower refresh cost down the track ($350 compared with $450 for Feather Touch).
Which one suits you? Start with a free consultation
Still deciding? That’s exactly what the free consultation is for. Your artist will look at your natural brows, your skin and your face shape, talk about how you wear your makeup and help you decide between Feather Touch and Powder Brows. They’ll also map a shape that balances your features, so you can see the plan before anything is tattooed.
The consultation is also the time to mention any medications or skincare you’re using, such as retinoids or isotretinoin, so your artist can check the treatment is suitable for you. Cosmetic tattooing is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, so we’ll ask you to wait until afterwards.
Preparing for your appointment
A few simple steps help you feel comfortable and get the best result:
- Order your numbing cream. Topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) for cosmetic tattooing is supplied by our partner, Tugun Compounding Pharmacy. You can order it through their topical anaesthetics form. Allow time for your order to arrive before your appointment.
- Check your timing. Plan around any big events so your brows have time to heal and settle, and remember your perfection visit is 6 to 8 weeks after your initial appointment.
- Talk to your artist about your skincare. Let them know about any active skincare or medications at your consultation, and follow any instructions they give you before your appointment.
Healing, your perfection visit and how long it lasts
Cosmetic tattooing happens in two steps: an initial visit, then a perfection visit 6 to 8 weeks later. Here’s what to expect in between:
- Days 1 to 14: the surface of the skin heals over around 7 to 14 days. Your brows may look darker and more defined at first. Let any flaking come away on its own and resist the urge to pick.
- Weeks 4 to 6: the colour settles and softens over this time, so try not to judge your final result too early.
- Weeks 6 to 8: your perfection visit. Your artist fills in any areas that have healed lighter and makes fine adjustments to shape and colour.
Your artist will give you aftercare instructions to follow after each visit. Following them carefully is one of the best ways to help your colour heal evenly.
Cosmetic brow tattoos last around 1 to 3 years. Over time the colour gradually fades, and a refresh appointment brings back the shape and colour when you’re ready.
