If you’re after plumper, more hydrated, glowing skin, two treatments sit at the heart of everything we do: the Radiance Skin Treatment and the Renewal Skin Treatment. Each one is tailored to your skin on the day, and each can be booked on its own, as a package, as part of a Skin Program or through a monthly Skin Club.
Here’s how they differ, and how to make your routine work smarter rather than harder.
Radiance Skin Treatment: restore and hydrate
The Radiance Skin Treatment ($180, 40 minutes) is restorative and hydrating. Your therapist selects one modality to suit your skin, such as:
- LED: blue light for breakouts and red light to help calm inflammation. It’s painless with no downtime, but it isn’t suitable if you’re taking photosensitising medication such as isotretinoin.
- Microcurrent, chosen by your therapist where it suits your skin.
- A peel: everyday options include the Sensitive Peel (10% lactic), Mature Skin Peel (10% glycolic and 10% lactic), Youthful Skin Peel (25% glycolic) and Oily Skin Peel (15% salicylic).
- A Hydro Jelly mask: Esthemax Hydrojelly® algae-based masks for hydration, redness, dullness or a pre-event glow.
Radiance is a lovely fit for ongoing maintenance, hydration and long-term skin health. If your skin feels tight or thirsty, our dry and dehydrated skin page has more ideas.
Renewal Skin Treatment: results-focused
The Renewal Skin Treatment ($275, 60 minutes) is our results-focused option. It combines one personalised modality with one advanced modality, such as:
- Skin needling: creates controlled micro-channels that stimulate the skin’s repair and collagen. It’s best for fine lines, acne scarring, texture and pigmentation. Expect redness for a day or two, and a course gives the best results.
- Nano (micro) infusion: a gentler alternative to needling with little to no downtime.
Needling and nano infusion use professional treatment serums, including The Original B, Anti-Ageing Peptide Serum, Depigmentation Serum and Acne & Inflammation Serum.
Renewal suits you if you’re working on acne scarring and texture, sun damage and pigmentation or ageing and mature skin.
Not sure which is right for you? Book a free 20-minute Advanced Skin Consultation and your therapist will help you choose. If you’re pregnant, taking medication such as isotretinoin, or using retinoids, please mention it so we can make sure your treatment is suitable.
Save with a Radiance or Renewal Package
If you’d like a short course of treatments with no ongoing commitment, a package lets you pay once and save:
- Radiance Package, $460: 3 x Radiance Skin Treatments (value $540, save 15%).
- Renewal Package, $700: 3 x Renewal Skin Treatments (value $825, save 15%).
Use your treatments within 6 months. Packages are a good way to build momentum, whether you’re preparing for a special occasion or simply getting back on track. See them on our memberships page.
Skin Programs: a course built around one goal
Working smarter, not harder, means choosing treatments that build on each other and backing them up at home. That’s the idea behind our Skin Programs. Each one combines a course of different treatments with an Australian Skin Institute product to use between appointments, saves you 20%, and runs over 6 months.
- Barrier & Hydration Program, $800 (value $1,000): 2 x LED, 2 x Micro (microdermabrasion) and 1 x Hydro Jelly, plus Barrier Hydration Complex, our “skin reset serum”. For stronger hydration results.
- Clarity & Refinement Program, $860 (value $1,080): 2 x LED, 1 x Dermaplaning and 2 x Peels, plus AHA Power Exfoliant. For more visible correction.
- Rejuvenation & Firmness Program, $990 (value $1,240): 2 x LED, 1 x Micro and 2 x Skin Needling, plus Vitamin A Corrector. For long-term corrective results.
A few things to know about the treatments inside the programs. Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation and you may be a little pink for a few hours. Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to remove dead skin and peach fuzz, and the hair grows back the same, not thicker. It isn’t performed over active breakouts. After higher-strength peels you can expect some flaking for a few days, and daily SPF is essential.
If your skin needs something more personalised again, our partner Tugun Compounding Pharmacy compounds skincare scripted by its pharmacists. You can request an order form and a pharmacist will contact you.
Aftercare that protects your results
Good aftercare helps you look after your skin between appointments. As a general guide:
- Avoid makeup for 12 hours, or 24 hours after skin needling.
- Skip heat, the gym and the sauna for 24 to 48 hours.
- Wear SPF 50+ every day.
- Pause retinol and acids for 3 to 5 days.
Your therapist will tailor this to the treatment you’ve had.
Skin Clubs: the best ongoing value
Once you’ve seen what regular treatments can do, a Skin Club is the easiest way to keep going. You have one professional skin treatment every month, with a plan tailored by your therapist.
- Radiance Club, $135 a month (regular value $180, save 25%): 1 x Radiance Skin Treatment monthly, plus 20% off Australian Skin Institute and Tugun Compounding Pharmacy retail.
- Renewal Club, $220 a month (regular value $275, save 20%): 1 x Renewal Skin Treatment monthly, an advanced plan, plus 25% off Australian Skin Institute and Tugun Compounding Pharmacy retail.
Both include a Welcome Pack of skincare goodies and a one-time Bring-a-Friend voucher. There’s a 6-month minimum term, then it’s month to month and you can cancel any time with 30 days’ written notice. A Radiance Skin Treatment works out at about $153 in a package, but just $135 in the club, so if you’re planning to come back regularly, the club is the better value.
